A gathering of the Australian submarine community.

What is SUBCON? It is the annual conference of the SAA, which encompasses the Annual National Committee meeting and the Association's Annual General Meeting.  SUBCON is held on the (Eastern States) Queens Birthday weekend but the venue is ‘rotated’ around all states according to a promulgated timetable. 2011 is Victoria's chance to shine!

More importantly, SUBCON is a series of social and reunion events that enables old (and new) mates to get together and lie; and for the ladies to spend all of the kid's inheritance on their annual shopping spree.  And what better place than Melbourne for this?

2011 makes this SUBCON even more significant, it also marks the Centenary of the RAN, the name ‘Royal Australian Navy’ being given Royal Assent in 1911.

Given the special significance of the year, and the fact that the Royal Australian Navy White Ensign (introduced in 1967) was identical to the Royal Navy White Ensign the SUBCON Logo recognises and celebrates that historical fact.
 

Memories of SUBCONs past

In 2011 the Victoria Branch will host the AGM and Submarine Conference (SUBCON) in Melbourne. Events will commence on the Friday evening of the long weekend and continue on through Monday.
