In Memory ofCPOMTP4SM BARRY THOMAS WRIGHT R58290![]() May He Rest In PeaceThe SAA is saddened to advise of the passing of former SAA member Barry (Shiner) Wright on the 3rd of July last year. Barry served in the Royal Navy Submarine HMS Olympus where he qualified as a submariner. In 1970 he returned to Australia where he served in HMAS Oxley, Otway, Ovens and Onslow and according to his SAA application form “in HMAS Platypus briefly!” He will be remembered by some for his excellent work in the Platypus Weapons Workshop. On retirement from the RAN Barry lived in Rosebud Victoria before moving to Dalmeny in southern NSW. He married twice, both wives predeceasing him. Chief Petty Officer Barry Wright passed away in Tuross Head NSW. The SAA extends its condolences to Barry’s extended family and friends. ![]() |
